Do you need help or something, Gaz?

Is silencing/suspending/banning gold spammers too much work for you? I'm sure there are plenty of people here that would be more than willing to help on a volunteer level and clean up your chat rooms... Reporting players, waiting for action and seeing them spam all day doesn't seem to be working too well.

Are you purchasing FoTs, EoJs or specific challenge tokens?

I'm finding it difficult to pull the trigger on spending currency, either DR merits or commendations, on raid gear or challenge bonuses for Uniques. The "when are omega items coming?" question is played out, but has there been any indication of a challenge bonus transfer transaction at a crafter, or a refund for obsolete raid items (e.g. Fragment of Twilight)?

Will these currencies be obsolete soon anyway? Should I save? Spend? #ohsweetbabyjeebushelpme

Biggest update ever ---- Worse not Better

$
0
0

When i first heard the biggest update ever was coming i was eager to see all the new things that would come with it. But instead, it was like everything was taken away rather than made better.

So the introduction of the single power bar. RUBBISH........ I understand that console players will be online, but this began as a PC or MAC based game. But i think that the sacrifice should be made on the console end rather than the PC/MAC. The single power bar takes ALL the fun out of using a character. Some NEED the other power or even G-Key bindings for summon powers which cant fit on the new system, otherwise you have no powers to fight with. We need the other power bars back because the fun is gone ! With the introduction of the Talents and Abilities, theres no point selecting some because they waste a slot on the bar. So to use one talent you need one power and one passive power that activates the talent. Thats why the 2nd bar was so useful. Flick to the 2nd bar, activate it, flick back to the first. Even the F1-F4 buttons cant be used so the 2nd mouse button that could be changed now cant be.

The level 52 reviews that were done on each character now mean is was all for nothing. Signature powers dont have the impact or damage they used to because power points dont exist. Worst of all, Ultimate powers now cant be used until LVL 60. FUN------ GONE !. It was one of the best things to work towards when levelling a character up and now you cant use it till the end. Please bring it back to LVL 52 like it was.

Charge times on basically every power now. Im seriously spending a huge amount of time looking at the power bar waiting for powers to charge. Even if its not a charging power, wait, put a talent on it and now it is. Does very little extra damage but looks great and thats all. I used one character that once i had talents active and the best of everything, i was fighting at one point and not able to do anything because my basic power now had a spirit cost and everything else was on a charge time. EVEN THE DASH.... so sat there and died.... Great !

Power point system being made obsolete is good but bad in others. It was cool to have the one power that had MASSIVE damage you would tweak, but now, every power just doesn't feel like its doing much. You play the game now just pushing any button because it doesn't matter which one you press, they dont do much.

Artefacts that were equip-able at 50-59 are now all LVL 60... again all the fun of adding these to a hero while playing is now done at the end. Its almost like a character isnt worth playing unless its at LVL 60. Thats when you get everything that the character will be able to do. I thought that the update was going to change power point to attributes only but to change it all to LVL 60 is just silly. Worse than that is the removal of health on enemy hits or spirit on hit. Gone. Why. Its hard to bring up your defense level on any character now and someone like Hulk being as weak as Black Widow...

Dash powers now have a charge is annoying. I get that the travel power speed was fixed but why limit dash powers. The game has just made it easier to die while playing. The difficulty bar does that already but to limit dashes just means you going to die if you dont keep your distance. Teleport powers make me feel sick to use. No distance anymore. Another instance where the game is slowly transitioning to a console game. It was great to teleport to the cursor. Now you wonder how far will i go... Teleport should be just like it used to be... TELEPORT....

Uniques..... wow.... what a waste of time. Not only are you not able to trade them in for ANYTHING now, but the ones i had maxed for my characters are now worse than lower LVL uniques i had. I would have thought that if the update was going to remove power points and replace them with attributes, it would have at least scaled with the LVL of the unique. CLEARLY NOT !! I had 2 Stashes with stored uniques and now i had to sell them all because theres no other use for them. I would collect and trade them in for relics, but thats gone now so whats the point of having them all stored. But with the eventual complete removal of uniques, i fear the fun of having any of them soon it pointless.

In summary.
My power bar now limits powers i can use. The dash powers are annoying. You die so many times while playing it simply makes you say "c'mon, ive got 1 Million defense and i still die"(Not literally). Uniques, theres no point having and are completely unscaled. All the time wasted doing LVL 52 reviews sucked the fun right out when they are now LVL 60. Signature powers feel like just another power. Charge times on basically everything now keep you looking at the hot bar constantly. Power points may have been removed but no power has that WOW factor anymore.

Seriously Gazilion team. If you want this to become a console based game, then count me out because this WAS my favourite game to play and now i cant stand so many of the changes made that i would rather not play anymore. So your going to loose a lot of players if some thing dont go back to being PC/MAC based again.

One Shots should be the focus of new content

$

One Shots are interesting because they are pretty much a smaller story mode. They are larger and more varied than terminals and have more objectives, but they don't span an entire chapter like the story.

One shots would be an excellent way to introduce new content by adding classic comic arcs.

Imagine playing comic arcs such as Maximum Carnage, Dark Phoenix, Civil War, Infinity, House of M, etc.

It allows Gaz to put whatever they want into the story still while also developing short stories and fan favorites independently.

This game is really needing new content. Raids were not a success as they are often not played anymore. The main modes seem to be terminals and midtown. I believe one shots are the best way to currently add content. Maybe a different one Oh.. My stars and garters! every couple months.

New Boosts Overview

$
0
0

Ahoy-hoy,

We’re very excited to announce the launch of our newest suite of Boosts! These collectively allow players to accelerate the progression of their Heroes in various ways that allow players to fully unbox a new Hero that much faster. We’re very excited to finally share this with you all, and this discussion will showcase how these new systems work.

New Boosts for a New Era

From now on, Marvel Heroes offers four, simple varieties of boosts:

  • Currency Boosts - increase the rate you accrue currencies of various kinds

  • Experience Boosts - increase the rate you gain experience

  • S.H.I.E.L.D. Supply Drop Boost - increases the rate you gain special loot (more detail below)

  • Combination Boost - An efficient way to get one stack of all three of the effects above!

These four new Boosts have replaced all previous varieties that might be found in Fortune Cards and Mystery Boxes. Also, to ease boost transition, there are two vendors now in Avengers Tower: one that lets you exchange any boost you currently have for boost vouchers, at a rate based on the old Boost’s value. Those vouchers can then be used to buy any of the four new ones. Note: all exchanges are final, so exchange carefully!

This new grip of boosts work a little differently, in the past our boosts lasted an hour but they did not increase in duration with each successive boost use. Now, they are 30 minutes but the 2nd boost adds 30 minutes and so forth. The first five Boosts of a type (e.g. Currency) will give you increased potency and an additional thirty minutes per boost. Then, after five stacks, each additional Boost of that kind will increase the duration of that effect by an additional thirty minutes. The Combo boosts works differently as well, each one grants an application of each of the three other types of boosts! This makes is a very convenient way to stack up all three boosts to max. These follow the same rules as if you had simply consumed a single of each of the three boost types.

As with previous boosts, players can expect to earn these from the Daily Login Gifts, Fortune Cards, and of course the in-game Store. With these, players can greatly enhance different aspects of the progression experience of their favorite Heroes.

S.H.I.E.L.D. Supply Drop

Please welcome our newest Boost design: S.H.I.E.L.D. Supply Drop Boosts! While you have this Boost activated, you gain S.H.I.E.L.D. Supply Points when you neutralize enemies, which show up as a progress bar in you HUD. Certain types of enemies yield more points than others (Bosses yield the most), and certain areas yield different amounts of points to normalize for different enemy densities and progress speeds (e.g. harder difficulties get a boost to compensate for the slower completion rate). Two very important caveats: Supply Points will not be available in Raids, and gain is static across all difficulties of the Danger Room. We are currently working to address this.

Once you fill your bar with points, you’ll see some really snazzy effects alerting you that brand new S.H.I.E.L.D. Supply Chest has been deposited directly into your inventory! Then all you need to do is just pop open the chest and enjoy your new, sweet loot (relative to the Hero who obtained the chest).

Happy Boosting!

Please : reconsider alternative hotkeys to restore them

$

0

Long time ago, it appeared obvious the need to set alternative hotkeys for some powers to be able to use them at exceptional circumstance (F1-F2-...Fx by default).

When Emma was released, one of the most annoying thing was to not be able to assign this kind of hotkeys to Psychic Domination. But finally the devs decided to make it possible and people who preferred playing Emma as a summoner were satisfied.

Now, after the Biggest Update, it is not possible to use such hotkeys. And it is not possible to add a power to the bar during a fight.

I understand the intent to avoid powers exploit. I understand the reason why you remove the additional power bars. But you have to consider that some heroes still need to be able to use a power once a day or once an hour, and sometimes while they are already fighting. Most of the heroes, but not all, who are concerned by this, are summoners. You managed well the update for some of them by adding some passive behaviors to invoke minions when hitting enemies or performing another action. And it works well in my opinion.

Here are some example I still finding boring after the update and are considered as a regression for me :

Rogue - Drain Life : Since the update, I want to collect all powers. To do so, I am obliged to keep this power in the bar because I can't switch while in combat. Switching this power by another every time before I enter a boss zone is a mess. For raid bosses (I didn't try to collect powers from them), it will be really annoying.

Emma - Psychic Domination (if I go to a new map and I want to control a new minion, I have to planned it before because i will not be able to add this power in my bar)

Rocket Raccoon : My Friend Groot. If Groot dies, or is lost in the map, I can't call him again because I do not put this power in my bar and it is not allowed to add it during combat.

I didn't try Magik yet.

It could be possible for you to decide to regen Groot like the way you did well with Dora Milaje, Declaration of War and Ultron minions. It appears to me more complicate for Emma & Rogue.

I think we must restore the hotkeys to be able to use exceptional power with the right-click. It opens more possibility in the game. If you are really afraid of an exploit, maybe adding a global cooldown could be acceptable ? Something like 1s on all powers in bar after switching ?

Hope you will hear my request.

Help me pick my next hero

I'm coming back after a long hiatus from the game. Can't say I'm a fan of the BUE changes, especially the movement powers as my main was a board dashing Silver Surfer but oh well. I want to give the game a fair shake so i figured i'd burn through some of my splinters and check out a new hero. I'm looking for anyone who may fit any of these criteria:

-not cooldown heavy, i hate rotations
-i still like movement heavy builds
-not a fan of glass cannons, so at least slightly durable would be nice

I've been toying with getting Juggs,Cable, or Ghostrider, but i'm not sold on anything at the moment and very open to suggestions.

Helping out MHInfo build hero base for builds

Hello, everyone!
For those like me who use MHInfo on daily/weekly basis, this huge update changed a lot of things. Namely, our builds are no longer valid, therefore they got deleted since there was no point in keeping them.
However, with all heroes receiving major changes, we need to rebuild the hero base on the site. As you might know, this isn't very easy, and everyone can help us to do it faster.
What you need to do is open the sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DWsYpGIt2xbQaDBV5JJLKoA6yAI4Seps5ZxF76kt8JQ/edit?usp=sharing, choose a hero/heroes you want to help (at the bottom of the sheet), write names of the powers and talents and you're set.

Once you're done, just be sure to edit the hero name in the first sheet, where it says if their sheet is completed or not, from No to Yes.

Thanks in advance to everyone who will contribute. :)

Infinity: Dodge vs. Deflect

$

So messing around tonight I actually looked at the values for these two nodes....both give flat dodge/deflect chance. Both cost the same per point. Both give the same amount of each, percent wise. They don't have to do with rating at all, so your defensive archetype doesn't matter.

But then it clicked that dodge is 100% damage reduction and deflect is just partial. So the Dodge node is twice as valuable to everyone.

Nice balance job there, guys....

Tired of Cooldowns!

$
0
0

So it seems with this change to giving so many heroes their own unique "Spirit" type, resources aren't really a concern anymore and it's basically all about using your arsenal of 4-8 second cooldown powers on a constant rotation. Are there still any heroes that rely more on managing resources than watching timers? I'm not so well-versed on the roster so don't really know how too many heroes work, would love some insight on more resource orientated characters.

HOWEVER, for whatever reason I cannot stand combo points, so those heroes are out :P

Thanks!

Playable villains in the future - Who can we expect?

$
0
0

Since we already have quite a few villains that are playable in the game, I thought it might be an interesting idea to go over who could get in the game, or at the very least who we would like to see.
In Alphabetical order:

Blob: Could work if people really wanted him in. I don't.

Bullseye: I think he would be fun to play as! A really good staple villain for both Daredevil and Elektra.

Doc Oct: Maybe. Kinda in the same boat as blob. If the fans push for it I'm sure they could do it, but nobody is really saying anything.

Electro: He might be fun. A pretty cool villain of Spiderman's and good powers. Only concern is having too many abilities similar to Storm's but I doubt it can be that hard to make him unique.

Gorgon: Eh. Maybe but I'm not too crazy on him, and I dont hear anyone else raving about him.

Grim Reaper: Who

Kingpin: Not sure what he would do aside from running at you and summoning bosses. Though that just might be all he needs: A summoner hero who has his gangsters come in to fight. Could happen.

Kurse: Probably not. He might show up as an assist if Malekith if he gets in.

Lady Deathstrike: HMMmmm well I want to say no on being a character. BUT I do think she could work as a skin for X-23, considering their similar powers.

Living Laser: Doubtful. I'm not even sure which comic he debuted in. Plus his only notable move is his laser beam attack - something plenty of heroes in the game have already.

M.O.D.O.K.: He is really weird, but they managed to make him work in MvC3 somehow, so I think he could be a fun character. Put him down as a 'maybe'.

Madame Hydra: I like her, and while she could work I think she might be better suited as a Black Widow skin. THough even then I'm not sure if Viper as a skin for BW would work (most special skins are heavily related to who they are based on, like Spider Gwen or Wiccan).

Malekith: He could but I dont think anyone really wants to see him. He made a splash in the movie, but I think that's about it.

Mandarin: He could be fun. I'm not the biggest fan of him but there is some potential.

Mole Man: Ehhhhhhhhh im not sure. If people want him, he can be a summoner/pet character, but I dont think it will happen.

Mister Sinister: He is quite popular, and he has a good powerset that has aoe damage and summoning. It might be cool to see him bring out some of the Marauder characters too like Virtigo or Archlight (I'm a sucker for super minor characters like them). Good idea imo, but he'd probably just summon clones of current heroes, since new models would be alot of work (but still would be tons of fun).

Pyro: I mean we have HT. He could just be a fire guy who has different types of skills from HT but at the end of the day it will still just be fire. A possible 'Maybe'.

Rhino: Eh. Better off as a skin for Jug. But even then I'm not sure that would happen.

Sabertooth: I like him! But I'm not sure if he would be a skin or his own character. Either way I think both are very possible.

Sauron: Ehhhhhhhhhhh no probably not.

Shocker: He does have neat powers. He isnt the most iconic villain though (I think he was originally a Spiderman character? Yes? No?) but with a little bit of pushing I can see him getting somewhere.

The Hood: His skillset might be a bit limited, but since he recently got his own comic series (Illuminati. It was cool.) so he is relevant, and with some work they can give him some kinda kit that could be fun. An extra mobile movement hero maybe?

Toad: See Blob.

Tombstone: I honestly never heard of him before (another Spiderman villain I think? Spidey gets alot of these weird villains.) Im a sucker for gangsters so I'd be on board for him but realistically I dont think so.

Wizard: Literally who

Lizard: Yeah he could do something. About as popular as Green Goblin, maybe a little less, but I'm not sure how relevant in the comics he is today. Maybe he could get something.

For anyone saying this doesnt work for story reasons: We already have plenty of villains playable, most of them being guys who would never do the right thing or aid the heroes in most situations (Doom, Green Goblin, Ultron).

Shout out to some villains who could work well in this game, but havent actually been made NPCs or bosses yet. People like Thanos or Enchantress could be alot of fun to play as and i'd look forward to seeing them.

(EDIT): Just to be clear I'm trying to be objective. I'm sure I missed a few things like how popular someone really is or not, and I'm sure I made a better case for some more than others but this is all just part of the discussion. For the most part I tried to give facts and some insight on what would be good for marketing the game.

Moving away from gameplay focused on boss rushing.

$
0
0

"Boss rushing" oriented gameplay has been my biggest "gripe" with Marvel Heroes since I started playing this game around year ago. The gameplay almost solely has been focused on rushing bosses while skipping majority of the content. In story mode we rush to the boss to finish quests asap, in patrols we rush from one boss/boss wave to another, in terminals its been always best to rush straight to the boss.

The main reason of such situation is that most of the experience as well as majority of the loot is "hidden" behind quests and bosses, in basicaly every mode. There has been either none or very little incentive to stop, and fight all those hordes of enemies.

BUE brought some changes that in theory were supouse to adress this issue.

We got controversial Movement changes that, among other things, were supouse to slow down the gameplay, but those changes absolutely doesn't solve the problem on their own. Without incentive to fight non boss enemies, we are still rushing everywhere skipping content, just slower...

Changes in Terminals were very much insuffucuent as they are still unrewarding in compare to Patrols. And even if they are tuned up, this potentialy solves the problem only in this one particular mode, while the problem is global.

And finally we got SHIELD Supply System(or BIF informally), which in theory solves the problem of rush oriented gameplay. But there are two major issue here. Firstly, with the way this system is designed/implemented we are going from one extreme to another. We go from boss rushing while ignoring everythign else, to mindless mobs farming in high density areas, while ignoring everythign else once again. Secondly, there is something fundamentaly wrong, if in an ARPG game (where fighting hordes of enemies should be a core feature, an essence of the gameplay) we have to use store "exclusive" boosts to create such incentive for ourselves(or grind heavily to get boosts for free, cube shards>fortune cards).

So, those changes brought to us with BUE, doesn't really solve the problem of gameplay focused on boss rushing and lack of incentive to fight non boss enemies, or they adress the issue only partially/localy.

There are two things that in my opinion need to happen, to create incentive to fight non-boss enemies, so we can move away from this gameplay almost solely focused on boss rushing:

  1. Increase the experience gains from defeating non-boss enemies, to a point that its worth/efficient to actually clear maps or at least defeat enemies on the way to the boss. This would positivelly affect every mode in game(on every dificulty) and encourage to stop and fight, instead of rushing to the end of instance or boss, either in Story, Terminals, One Shots or Danger Room. In Patrols it would be worth to keep fighting non-boss enemies, instead of waiting for next event/boss wave. This change alone could take us very far if it comes to way of playign the game, considering that Experience is always desirable, doesn't matter if we are leveling or doing endgame loot hunting, especially now, with Infinity system.

  2. Add valuable loot to non boss enemies. Making cosmic Fragments drop from mobs was good first step. But its not nearly enough. Enemies should have a chance to drop items from shared loot tables, and maybe even a boss specific items depending on zone. Of course the chances of dropping those items from mobs should be much lower than from bosses, but high enough so its worth, once again, to clear maps instead of rushing to end of instance/boss. Another possibility would be to make SHIELD supply system available as default, without boosts, just as much slower rate, but I doubt this will happen.

I would also like to ask the developers( @Asros @TheArtofRawr @KomoriMan) if there are any further plans to create incentive to fight non boss enemies, or is SHIELD Supply system the only thing that is supouse create such incentive?

How do I get SHIELD Supply Points? (Also: opened 42 chests)

$

I know, I need the new boost and my SHIELD bar fills faster if I use more than one. But harder content seems not rewarding and Boss rushing seems bad.

I have seen a lot of different statements how fast pepole get it filled.

1 boost - 30 mins CMM bosses - gave me 2 segments, this is my experience, others told me:

  • 1 boost - 30 mins red MM bosses - 1,5 bar
  • 3 boosts - 1 Comsic Task term with bounty - 0,3 bar
  • 5 boosts - 1 comisc term with all Mobs - 1 bar per minute
  • 5 boosts - 1 comisc term with all mobs - 1 bar per term

It seems only the defeats count, no matter the difficulty and bosses count as much as mobs. Can anyone claryfy this?

edit:
now I did 5 boosts - cosmic terms - got 42 chests - content on page 3
