This is one of the things that Diablo II did well that Marvel Heroes fails at. I played many hours of Diablo II just using a high Magic Find character hunting for new items. If you find the right item, it inspires you to play a new character with a new build. Like if you were playing a MF Sorc and found, I dunno, a Windforce Bow - you would want to make a Bowazon.

In Marvel Heroes, we have stuff that gives us Item Find... but we don't really value it highly because a lot of us, myself included, don't even think that it works. So you have like Omega Nodes that give +1% MF that no one touches because it's a waste of Omega Points. We don't wear Magic Gear or use MF Blessings or any of that as instead, we just stack DPS.

Plus, there's not really gear you can find in this game that inspires you to play a different hero. Starting a new hero in this game feels like an uphill battle because there's a lot of things you need, like a max level legendary, that you don't feel like grinding over and over. Only speaking for myself, this is why I give up on a lot of characters once they ding level 60. I don't want to do all of that stuff again.

I wish the boss running in Marvel Heroes meant more. I would love to be playing my Daredevil - wearing a bunch of SiF gear (that worked) to find drops that inspired me to want to play Hulk or Captain America, ya know? Instead there's items that are like Best in Slot for each TYPE of characters instead of each INDIVIDUAL character. Like if you're Melee, Ranged, Physical, Summon instead of if you're Thor, Loki, Squirrel Girl or Ghost Rider.

That's what this game has been missing from the get-go and why, to me, it has always felt like it was never quite where it needed to be.

There was also that feeling of excitement, not just for yourself, but for your friends when someone found something. "Hey guys, look what just dropped for me!" "That's awesome!" "Gratz!!" "You gonna use it? You wanna trade it?" That sort of thing. It brought people together.

Is there anyway that we can get that feel back & incorporate it into Marvel Heroes?

Suggestion about OMEGA event

We have run OMEGA event so many times by now, but the rewards at the vendor stay the same. Most people have Coulson TU already and have much omega files. There is no motivation to collect them anymore. I think OMEGA event is the weakest of all - no meaningful rewards and old Holo-sim. As this game mode gets reworked so must be the vendor and currencies.

I suggest adding more SHIELD themed content to the vendor:
1- Dum Dum Dugan TU - already a character model that is not different in mechanics to the SHIELD agent and will be easy to do ( so basically a re-skin)
2- Other SHIELD TU's - fan favorite Melinda May or a classic agent from the comics
3- SHIELD and Hydra artifacts
4- Visuals

If we get improved Holo-sim mode we need a good vendor, just like Danger Room is one of the best ideas made real.
@KomoriMan , @Asros - pls think about this if you haven't already :)

Costumes and Catalysts Question.

My apologies if this is covered elsewhere.
Once cores become catalysts, they will be separated from costumes.
We are told that we will no longer need to keep costumes in stash.
But where will the removed catalysts be kept?
If it is in stashes then the changes gain us no extra space, which I rather thought was supposed to be one of the plusses of doing this.

With the Catalyst change, it seems we're getting a hit with the nerf bat.

This is my current core.

4 affixes.

However, this is its conversion.

Old cores will not be getting new affixes.

Example: If your previous core looked like this

Regenerate 25%....
When you use a Med Kit become Invul...

It will look like this

Gain a Damage Shield equal to....

But when I rolled a random core...

4 normal affixes
A cosmic affix
and a cosmic bonus affix.
(we're negating the +1000 defense because it's a random rolled core)

So I guess start saving up your Armored Drives and gain enough Ancient Devices to gain good catalysts... 'cause everything you have will not be up to par or converted to it.

Since we see more and more TC iterations and IMHO we are a bit far from a delivery of the new big update, i was wondering if there was a possibility to give us 10kers (omegas) an incentive to farm xp. Say in the form of a pool with no actual use in the current live but converted in infinity xp when update hits.

Agent is wanted for a long time, Agent is in the game as Team up, Agent is high on the list of the most wanted, "His name is Agent". On top of that demand he is a cool character mixing Spider-Man, Venom and a soldier. So he shoots a web in the eye, bites someones arm of and uses few handguns at once. That is badass no matter which version of him you like more. Is it the soldier, the spider or venom? He have something for you and so does his power set bellow. The Flash, the venomiest agent alive.

Introduction

Early life
Eugene "Flash" Thompson was a former classmate of Peter Parker. Flash grew up in Forest Hills, Queens, New York. He lived only a few blocks from Peter's house. He lived with his father Harrison Thompson, a police officer in the New York Police Department, his mother Rosie Thompson and his little sister Jesse. Flash was physically abused by his alcoholic father, leading to Flash's own violent, bullying nature.

Midtown High School
Like Peter Parker, he went to Midtown High School, where he bullied him daily. The bullying continued for a long time even after Peter gained his Spider powers who never used them against Flash, even when tempted to do so. The only exception was a boxing match between the two in the school gym, where Peter evaded Flash's punches with his reflexes and knocked him out with a single punch. However, this was passed off as an accident and any suspicion of Parker actually being Spider-Man was moved onto Flash himself due to events involving the Living Brain. After this, Flash stopped his physical abuse, although he continued to taunt Peter

Flash was Midtown High's star quarterback, where his speed on the football field earned him the lifelong nickname "Flash". This gained him popularity and respect, but he still remained jealous of Peter's book smarts. Ironically, Flash became an ardent supporter of Spider-Man, despite popular opinion against him. He even formed a Spider-Man Fan Club while still in high school and invited everyone except Peter Parker to join and scared away Daily Bugle staffers when they tried to interview people about their reasons for hating Spider-Man.

United States Army
By the time Flash left college to join the army, he and Peter parted as friends. During his tour of duty, Flash was stationed in Southeast Asia.

Flash returned to civilian life and college and was amongst the many friends who paid their respects to Peter at Gwen Stacy's funeral.

Flash returned to the battlefield in the war in Iraq, and lost his legs after saving his partner from enemy forces. He returned to the United States and started dating Betty Brant

The New Venom
Flash became the new Venom when he was enlisted as a part of Project Rebirth 2.0. Flash was bonded with the symbiote, recently acquired by the U.S. government after Mac Gargan's arrest after the Siege of Asgard. While bonded, Flash was able to reproduce his legs and had powers comparable to Spider-Man.

Thompson was sent to the Eastern European country Nrosvekistan to recover Dr. Ekmecic, a specialist in developing weapons made from Antarctic Vibranium. During his mission, he encountered the new Jack O'Lantern, who was also trying to recover Dr. Ekmecic for his boss, the new Crime-Master. Neither was able to take Ekmecic alive but the encounter made Venom and Jack O'Lantern long-time enemies

Powers and Skills

Symbiot gave Flash:
Superhuman strenght, speed, agility, durability and healing factor.
This atributes are comparable to those of spider-man and grow when symbiot takes over.
He have spider sense and can crawl on walls.

Constituent-Matter Generation and Constituent-Matter Manipulation.
Flash is able to create more symbiotic matter and form from it many different things. First thing he creates are his legs and his armor. He can create claws, grow bigger, extend limbs, create white webbing or black tendrills and do many more things.

Reproducing his legs

Flash is:
Skilled Marksman. Flash has been trained in sharpshooting and marksmanship from the U.S. Army.
Skilled Combatant. Due to formal training as a boxer and a soldier, Flash is an exceptional combatant and easily combines his abilities with the use of symbiote powers.

Controll
Three sectioned bar over power bar. It's either Flash having the Controll or Symbiot taking it over. The bar fills with black symbiot liquid from the left when you use some Venom powers meaning Symbiot gains controll while you lose it. It slowly empties when you don't use Venom powers and faster when you use Agent powers. Controll have 3 stages.

  • "In Controll" is when less then the first section of the bar is filled with symbiot. At this stage you have: +critical strike +dodge. Powers cost less spirit. Agent powers have shorter cooldowns.
  • "Symbiosis/ Struggle" is when the second section of the bar is filled but not the third. At this stage your bonuses change to: +deflect, +dmg, +brutal hit ratig.
  • "Lost Controll" is when more than two sections of the bar are filled with symbiot. At this stage your bonuses change to +defense, +hp, +hp/5, -critical hit, +brutal hit and brutal dmg. Powers cost more spirit and venom powers cost more health.

No stage is more powerful then the other. Someone can play by changing between them to use specific bonus for specific power. Or balancing in one stage to keep favourite bonus or playstyle. There are talents that help achive those goals.

  • Agent
    Pistols, carbines, granades and knives. Some used like a normal soldier would but some have a bit of a help from the symbiot. Also there is a morphing gun that he got from his superriors at the start.

  • Venom
    From the claws and biting to the constructions made from the symbiotic goo. Also use of the web and some creative ways to use the symbiot like creating a decoy or controlling your enemies.

Some Venom powers cost hp they will have tagg "HP" next to them and "HP+" if it's more health.

Venom powers that fill Controll Bar with symbiot will have addnotation at the bottom "Controll" or "Controll+" of it takes more controll or "Controll-" if less.

    Gracefull roll but with a lot of power behind it.

Pinless Granades Ranged, Area

  • No pin? I will keep that for later.
    Inside your symbiot suit you keep few granades without pins that your symbiotic tendrils throw with happines. After you use this power you will automaticly toss four granades, one each second at enemies that you are attacking or in random direction if you aren't attacking. Only traveling power will stop this from happening.

Quadwielding Ranged

  • So between six of you you have four guns and two knives. [transforming] Ok now we are in the same boat. You won't go out of this boat in one piece though.
    Holding two guns in your hands and two in symbiot limbs coming out of your shoulders you shoot fours pistols. Really fast attack speed in two to four close to eachother lines of fire.

Cover Us Ranged

  • We will cover Us.
    Jump backwards doing a roll while two tendrils to your side unphased by your change of position shoot pistols all the time as you are rolling. When you are going up you place hands over those pistols [tendrils were moving around your body to do that].

Morphing Gun Ranged, Area

  • On one of your first asignments you got this weird little gun. Like you it can change itself.
    Short submachine gun that can become a carbine in a moment. It also changes rate of fire. Area in which it shoots and chooses the type of shot is long narrow cone. Change happens once a second.

  • When Eenemies are in close range. Fast shooting smg:
    If there are less then 3 enemies - Single target barrage shooting.
    If there are more then 3 enemies – Cone shooting dmg 4/s

  • When Enemeis are in long range. Slower carbine:
    If there are less then 3 enemies – Three round bursts with + critical
    If there are more than 3 enemies – Faster three round bursts with piercing.

Run and Guns Ranged, Area

  • Not most precise way but bastards will hide in their hole until I have a better plan.
    Pick up with your symbiot limbs four carbines of the ground and shoot them all around you. You can walk with normal speed while doing this.
    Dmg 2/s
    Small cooldown after you end channeling

Hail Mary Ranged

  • Let this work ... I've got one shot.
    Single long targeted shot with a pistol in the most vital point of your enemy. Sometimes it's a headshot sometimes it hits where someone else planted a bomb. It worked for you as a last ditch effort many times. This hits targeted enemy. Longer animation of the shot make it a really slow attack. Power shot like coup the grace.
    Dmg X
    X% chance that when you hit it will cause exploasion. Cooldown on that.
    X% chance that it will have +X citical and brutal rating and +X critical and brutal dmg [before the shot]. Cooldown.
    If you go bellow 10% of hp, cooldown on both effect resets, the chance on both effects doubles for Xs.

Venom

Claws Melee lvl 1

  • Doing everything a spider- ... Deatstrike can?
    Elongate your fingers into sharp claws and deal fast stronge attacks tearing the flesh.

Blade Hands Melee, HP

  • Let it ripp!
    Change your arm either in long toothed blade or int a axe. In animation every 3 or 4 attacks your both hands are weapons and slash like scissors. Wide and long arc of slow attacks with lower critical rating and high brutal rating and brutal dmg. If target is bleeding this power prolongs the bleed by 3s but it can only prolong one bleed one time.

Tendrils Melee, Area, HP+

  • You all need to calm down now!
    From all over your body long tendrils shoot in every direction hiting and sticking to enemies then they contract rapidly. This animation lasts a 1-2s and have a little delay befor reactivating.

Web Cover Ranged, Area

  • With a little twist to the ground shooting of my spider compadres.
    Slow shots of thick web balls that explode on enemies covering the ground around them. Web slows enemies and leaves them vulnerable. After hitting enemy on it's path the web sprays in a circular area behind him. Deals more dmg to the initial target.

Spikes Melee, Area, HP+

  • We are angry at you. We. Stab you.
    Throwing arms to the side create a giant spike out of your body. This spike starts to grow and spread like tree branches imapling more enemies. After certain lenght the spikes come back to you. Spikes take blood from bleeding enemies and transport it to you.

  • I've wished to do that for so many years.

Decoy Area, HP+

  • Neat little use of symbiot that sometimes gives me someone to talk to.
    Extend long thin tendril along the ground and at shift more symbiot along it to create your double at the other end. It looks like and taunts enemies then is ready to take hits or to hit enemies arround it. If you move further than range X [visual indicator is the thin tendril that is loose when you are close and tenses when you move away] the Decoy disapear. Second activation make it explode around with motions or spikes or hits with limbs to hit anyone in small area around it.

Mind controll Hp/s

  • "He can do that?"
    Send tendrils around you laching them to the heads of enemies in small area. It looks like a network of cables with you at the center. Those tendrils go into brains and brainsteams of your victims giving your symbiot some controll over their actions. You of course use this for combat. Enemies you controll don't move or fight until you attack enemies, then they start to attack that enemy. Using Tendrils or Spikes interrupts this power. Ranged mobs move only when you move too far out away from them, while melee mobs won't move if target you attacked is too far from you.

Venom out Signature, Melee

  • We know who we are!
    You grow big and scary. Your mouth extends and bites enemies in frontal cone of you. You stay big for Xs. Using this power generates symbiot in Controll Bar. Some of your powers are enhanced to be more venom like and they fill more Controll Bar.

    *Claws – Have bigger reach and cost less spirit.
    *Blade Hands – Have added giant bite every 3-5 attacks that allways brutaly strikes.
    *Tendrils – Impale enemies dealing more dmg and isntead of slow they pull them a little closer [not a big pull]
    *Spikes – Spikes branch out out of you in all directions [shorter distance but full aoe]. Longer cooldown.
    -Shares cooldown with "like Spider-man"

Like Spider-man Signature, Melee, Area

  • I won't lose controll. I will be like him.
    Keep controll over your emotions and over your symbiot. Do a 10 hit area off effect combo similar to spider-man's ultimate. Use of this power returns you a lot of controll. Then some of your powers are enhanced being more spider-man like.
    *Claws – Don't cause bleed, faster attacks don't make you lose controll.
    *Blade Hands – You enlarge your hands and knockout your enemies. No buffs, debuffs of the original power. Punch causes stun. After Xs of hit enemies take X% more dmg from your Agent powers. Much less loss of controll.
    *Tendrils – Become web it up. You jump high in the air and shoot white and black webbing from all over your body to cover big area. Weaken, dmg, and long slow for everyone hit. Costs less HP and make you lose less controll.
    *Spikes – Way of the Flash. You jump between enemies in a long line hiting everyone of them. +X% dmg against enemies hit by your granades or Web Cover
    -Shares cooldown with "Venom out"

Ultimate

Depending on which signature was last used either:

After "Venom Out": Lose controll

  • You grow even bigger, cover in spikes, have giant maw. You start with a big leap into target area hititng and knocking down everyone there. When you don't use powers [or use basic] then you walk forward slashing enemies with your big claws that leave enemies bleeding. In this time you take 20% less dmg and have big +X% hp/5. Then you gain some controll[controll bar in the middle] and have +Movement and attack speed, +Dmg for Xs

After "Like Spider-man": Agent Spider

  • You spin around shooting fast projectiles of white webbing to hit every single enemy around you and stun them [0,5-1s] and slow them. Then you jump high in the air while creating a big black wrecking ball off goop on a leash [like spider-mans signature but bigger] and jump into target location to uncapacitate everyone [stun/ knockdown]. After that you have +Movement and attack speed, +Dodge, +Xdmg for Xdodge.

Quite a few people have stated in other threads that they were only going to spend money if they get the 90% off coupon.

I don't have any plans or expectations to spend money in the next 6 months, but a 75% or higher coupon would probably change my mind. I'm technically not holding out for one, I'm just waiting to see how the system revamps turn out and if i find endgame fun again. That's going to take some time

So, when is Gazillion going to rebrand the game as Marvel Heroes 2017? Are they going to? Should they do it?

Perhaps they will do it after the big update?

It is that time again, time to talk about January's event schedule! Here are the events we have planned for you over the course of the next month! Each event starts at 12:00 AM Pacific on the first date and ends at 11:59 PM Pacific on the second date.

1/5 - 1/11: Operation Omega
1/12 - 1/18: Mystic Mayhem
1/19 - 1/25: Cosmic Chaos
1/26 - 2/1: A.R.M.O.R. Incursion

Also, on top of these events, we also have:
1/22 - 1/29: Lunar New Year!
