Campaign to get a melee and ranged sig for appropriate players

$

0

for example, i play melee gambit, and it is weird throwing his cards point blank range in someone's face...he isnt the only one that has this issue either...not only does it look weird, but it affects gearing...gambit for example should have a talent that changes his sig to a melee sig where he charges the ground around him, and it explodes

even if it doesnt happen with this next update, i think it owuld be a great thing to have in the future

Dash Timer Change Idea

$

From my understanding the dash limits and the cast time for travel powers are to keep you from just running all over the place and just ignoring fights constantly. I get that. But in a big mob fight or several bosses in say MM you may need to dash in and out a few times - especially as a melee. Thinking in terms of moving around during a fight and not so much avoiding fights in general I had an idea... though I admit it may be impossible.

Could the timer on the dasher ticks be adjusted individually? What I'm thinking is that instead of each tick having like an 8 second cooldown, what if the first tick had like 4 seconds, the second had 8 seconds, and the third has 12 seconds. That way you will have a better chance to restock at least one movement for when you really need it to avoid a telegraph deathstrike, but if you're just trying to use the dashes as an escape or fight avoidance it's a bit more punishing. Wouldn't that make the dashes less hindering for the use they were/are intended for and more difficult to abuse?

Just an idea. Again, not sure if it's even possible.

Winter ends.... when?

Hello all,

Was wondering if anyone could tell me when the Winter Event ends? I have gone through a lot of threads but cannot see an answer? And it is late, I am tired and I THINK there are wolves after me...

This is the week. The new TC Iteration. Excitement, Hope, Worry, Waiting.

Any bets on which hopes will be realised and which dreams will be crushed? Which heroes will be closed projects because they are done and which still will need things but the balancing stage will come?

Among my many hopes and pages of feedback. The most I'm worried about Taskmaster. "Mini-Rogue", "Black Knight powers" and other things from whole pages of feedback mine and others.

Things that I would love beside him is Stealth and Calm options for Wolverine [in one row of talents can be done] and Stealth tech for Iron Man who have stealth costumes and War Machine already have stealth tech so it's even more apropriate. But this won't happen. Too much a cherry on the cake thing.

Now I'm waiting. Refreshing, checking for download. Waiting for the dream crusher or the holly light of awesome changes.

Hannibal King's Revolver!

So who else will cosmic prestige after the boosts have gone?

I see the changes as a huge nerf and cosmic prestiging is going to be awful once the changes come in to play. No more boosting to 1000%(I hate that change so much) and no more credit chests. I wanted to ask who will continue to cosmic prestige?
I wanted to cosmic the entire roster 12 hours ago but now im only going to red with everyone and cosmic on Black Bolt. Who will continue to cosmic after the changes?

Mobility idea

Hello

I'm gonna use Deadpool as an example, because he's my main.

When I play a terminal, for example, using teleport I can reach the boss in a matter of seconds, but with the big update that won't happen anymore because teleport will have charges.

What if Gazillion was to give every hero a skill like Deadpool's Canadian Devil? I know lots of people think using this skill is lazy and only for players with one finger, but I would have way more fun doing a terminal using Canadian Devil than waiting for the teleport charges' cooldown.

What do you think?

Power Heroe Talent and Mobility :
- Skill points going away.
- All heroes get a QoL where their power gets an update either visually, or/and functional plus the damage tuning
- Heroes get a Talents & Traits system:Similiar to DIABLO3:Runes system:5 rows and per each row 3 talents to choose from
- Travel Power : The travel power has been reduced and got a windup animation. the reason was to have a value which it currently does not have on live ( everyone uses dashes as travel powers )
- Dashes : Charges and cooldowns, each heroe has on his/her dash a cooldown and a charge system. 3 charges and i believe 3-4 seconds cooldown, the reason was to make the fights more engageable and more throughout thought

Infinity System :
-Replacement for omega system, simplified and does not requier you to be confused and stare at something for 30 min to figure out you have to use nods to get to other node and after all you'll eventually figure out you'll be doing the same build as everyone else does.
-As infinity stands you can maximize stuff without limits, such as intelligence, durability or Strenght, you can also reduce cooldowns for dashes, and increase speed movement etc.

New Teased/Confirmed stuff such as : Prestiges, Boosts, Costumes, Cores. etc.

  • Cores are changed into catalysts, you will no longer have to use the crafter to bind the core to a costume. it has its own slot and you can equip it at each level depending on what core you have.

  • Wardrobe : It has been annouced and confirmed wardrobe system is coming, costumes will no longer be a item to be put on a heroe. it will be simply a desing that was introduced in Ultimate Alliance game, or many other games out there! (YEAHS!)

  • Boosts : I am a bit confused how it works, but as far as i understand we will have to use 5 boosts to get 30 min credit/xp/rarity and such. you can stack much higher though. the reason behind is the economy of the game and its future.
i personally agree. it is also done to decrease the rushing to cosmic prestige in one day to make it more challenging and ambitious to do so.

  • Prestiges : It has been teased by asros that there are more prestiges on the way! aside from cosmic! we'll have new ones! let the speculations begin

  • Team up synergies : They simply give you benefits. not sure how it works cause i missed last TC. but probably more spirit or something

If there's anything else i have mised please let me know and i'll edit the list!

The Biggest Systems Update Ever is approaching and included in that update is a revision to the RIF and SIF system, BIF. If you want a refresher course on what this revision entails and how it is set to work, please visit our 5th Dev Blog.

On Tuesday(1/17) at 12:00PM PST, boosts that include the RIF or SIF bonus currently will be taken out of the store and vaulted. This also includes RIF and SIF Boosts that are in Combo Boosts, Fortune Cards, and Mystery Boxes. That doesn't mean that we are removing the mechanics of RIF/SIF and it especially doesn't mean we are deleting any of the current consumables you own with RIF/SIF. Any consumables you still own with RIF/SIF bonuses will still work as intended even if you activate them at any point in the future.

New Boost Suite

The goal is to keep the store simple and easy to navigate in preparation for the update, as well as not to muddy the boost mechanics as the BIF system is introduced. We want our boost system to be much clearer for players and for them to know exactly what boost to purchase for what mechanic they want to enhance. With this goal in mind, we are reducing our total boost suite down to the following 4 boosts.

Bonus Item Find Boost - 60 minutes - Gain Bonus Item Find Points for 60 minutes!.

Each Bonus Item Find Boost consumed increases the rate at which you gain Bonus Item Find Points:

  • 1 Boost: Earn Points at 1x
  • 2 Boosts: Earn Points at 1.5x
  • 3 Boosts: Earn Points at 1.8x
  • 4 Boosts: Earn Points at 1.9x
  • 5 Boosts: Earn Points at 2x

Experience Boost - 60 minutes - Gain additional Experience for 60 minutes!.

Each Experience Boost increases the rate at which you gain Experience:

  • 1 Boost: 100% Bonus Experience
  • 2 Boosts: 150% Bonus Experience
  • 3 Boosts: 180% Bonus Experience
  • 4 Boosts: 190% Bonus Experience
  • 5 Boosts: 200% Bonus Experience

Currency Boost - 60 Minutes - Gain additional Game Currency for 60 minutes!

Each Currency Boost increases the rate at which you gain Different Game Currency:

  • 1 Boost: +120 credits per drop, 10% more Danger Room Merits per Victory chest, +1 Odin Marks per Legendary Quest or Boss Defeat
  • 2 Boosts: +130 credits per drop, 20% more Danger Room Merits per Victory chest, +2 Odin Marks per Legendary Quest or Boss Defeat

Combo Boost - 60 Minutes - Gain Bonus Item Find Points, Experience, and Game Currency for 60 minutes! Stacks additively with all other boosts.

Each Combo Boost increases the rate at which you gain Bonus Item Find, Experience and Different Game Currency:

  • 1 Boost: Earn BIF Points at 1x, 100% Bonus Experience, +120 credits per drop, 10% more Danger Room Merits per Victory chest, +1 Odin Marks per Legendary Quest or Boss Defeat
  • 2 Boosts: Earn BIF Points at 1.5x, 150% Bonus Experience, +130 credits per drop, 20% more Danger Room Merits per Victory chest, +2 Odin Marks per Legendary Quest or Boss Defeat
  • 3 Boosts: Earn BIF Points at 1.8x, 180% Bonus Experience , +136 credits per drop, 30% more Danger Room Merits per Victory chest, +3 Odin Marks per Legendary Quest or Boss Defeat

You’ll notice that these function in the same fashion that our current RUSH bars do. They stack in power, but not duration.
These boost values are very close to final, but may change based off of Test Center iteration. Additionally, the prices are still being finalized.

BIF Conversion

When we initially announced BIF, we mentioned that we did not have any plans to convert existing boosts to BIF. This decision was made because we do not take the decision to change existing items, especially items that players have paid for, lightly. We listened to your feedback, and feel that we have come up with a good compromise.

Once BIF launches, you will find 2 vendors in Avengers Tower. The first vendor will allow you to turn in certain boosts you may own for a new token. The amount of tokens granted per boost will vary depending on the boost itself. The tokens exchanged from this vendor can be used at a vendor right next to it to buy any of the new boosts we will be offering. This will allow players a chance to exchange boosts that they want for any of the new boosts, free of charge. These vendors will only be available for a limited time, so be sure to take advantage of it quickly!

Last Chance Sale

Don't fret though! Feel free to stock up on RIF/SIF boosts until Tuesday(1/17) at 12:00PM PST. We will be adding in special boosts in by Thursday(1/12) at 12:00PM PST.

Stay tuned for more updates as we lead into the "Biggest Systems Update Ever".

Dev Blog 2: Items

Greetings!

I am TheArtofRawr, Lead Systems Designer for Marvel Heroes 2016, and in case you haven’t heard, we are working on the biggest systems update in the history of the game! Last week, we shared a glimpse of what we have in store for you, focusing on Hero Power Updates, and in particular, Power Points, Talents, and Traits. As we mentioned, we will be updating four core game systems over the course of multiple game updates:

  • Hero Power Updates

  • Item Updates

  • Omega System Updates
  • Personal Difficulty Slider

Last week, we discussed the changes to Hero Powers. Today we will be discussing Items, and more specifically, Bonus Power Ranks and what to expect from Item drops in the future.

Bonus Power Ranks

As we mentioned last week, Powers will now have the benefits of maximum Power Points allotment incorporated directly into their stats at all times, scaling with your level. So now that power scales as you level, bonus power ranks become obsolete, and Items will no longer need to grant power point bonuses. This expands the design space tremendously, but what does this mean for existing Items?

When this update launches, all current Items that grant Power Points will be adjusted in some way. The affixes that granted Power Points (e.g., “+1 Power Rank to Shield Throw,” “+1 Rank to Furious Lunge,” etc.) will be removed, and we’ll be performing a balance pass on Unique items to ensure their continued viability. One of the main ways we will be adjusting Items is through the addition of more Attributes such as, Strength, Energy, Fighting, etc. With the new Traits system, these will become far more desirable for all Heroes. This also means that Items in the first five slots (hereafter “slots one through five”) of common through cosmic rarities will be losing Power Point bonuses and Power Point grants in favor of Attributes and other bonuses that will be more advantageous. Here are some examples of Uniques in their current state in the game now compared to their new versions after the system update:

Furthermore, all Items and recipes that grant Power Points are being reviewed and updated. This also includes the cosmic tier of Cybernetics, which will get some fun new powers. Keep an eye out for the full list of changes down the road.

The Future of Items

Currently, Item rarity for slots one through five Items progresses from Uncommon to Rare, Rare to Epic, Epic to Cosmic, and Cosmic to Unique. Uniques have acted as a ceiling that’s limited us from expanding to new rarity tiers in the Item system. So we are replacing their spot in the item hierarchy with something far more expandable and powerful. As a result, Unique slots one through five Items will no longer drop in game. But don’t worry–any and all Unique Items you have earned will still work as before.

Starting with this update, instead of Unique drops, you’re going to get something much, much better...

Introducing: Omega Rarity

So if Uniques are no longer dropping, what loot will players hunt for? We are introducing a new Rarity Tier: Omega Rarity. As mentioned, these will replace Uniques in the rarity pool for slots one through five Items. They will only drop at level 60 and will be tightly integrated into our new Difficulty Slider system that we will discuss in an upcoming dev blog.

Omega Items are broken down into two distinct components. The first is a series of randomly rolled affixes from a shared pool. These are similar to the random affixes that can roll on uncommon through cosmic Items, but retuned and with new affixes added. The randomly rolled affix pool will be “filtered” for each hero. This means that you won't ever find things like summon ally damage on an Item for Blade.

The second component of an Omega Item is the Omega Power. The goal for Omega Powers is to enable players to modify their powers in ways that can palpably impact your build choices. Make no mistake about it–Omega Items will be build-defining mechanics rather than static buffs to Powers. While we don’t have any screenshots of the Items under development, we want to share a few mockup examples of the new Omega Items. (Note: these mockups are not final and may possibly change before going live).

The goal of these is to make some simple and fun options for players that will impact what powers you select. This Black Cat Omega Power is just that. This item adds a Caltrops power to Black Cat’s Quick Getaway much like the one Deadpool has.

This is one of the first Omega Powers that we designed. It is an elegantly simple, yet highly effective power. Notice how it makes Shield Bounce much more powerful and compelling to use.

For ages, Rocket Raccoon players have wanted Photon Minigun to pierce targets (damage projectile will continue through enemies and strike enemies behind them). In this update, it becomes an Omega Power.

Mjolnir is one of the most iconic and powerful Items in the Marvel Universe, and it will have an Omega Power tantamount to its status.

War Machine currently gains different ammunition bonuses depending on different abilities he uses. Before this update, this mechanic was limited to ranged builds, but with Omega Items, it will become available to melee players too.

We hope you enjoyed this sneak peek into Omega Items. There’s a lot more in the works where these came from! Lastly, there is one more order of business we need to discuss regarding the impact of the new Omega Item update: Any-Hero Uniques.

Rare Boss Items

If we are building our Omega Items to impact hero powers in a specific way, what does this mean for Any-Hero Uniques? Having Any-Hero Uniques compete with Hero Uniques has been problematic for a long time. First, it’s expected that Captain America should use Captain America’s shield, for example, and that Iron Man should use Iron Man’s armor. While the idea behind Any-Hero Uniques is mechanically innocuous, it is thematically inconsistent with the Heroes and the Marvel Universe. We still want bosses to have rare Items that you hunt for that are very powerful, but we are moving away from those going into slots one through five. Instead, they’ll be in different Item slots including Artifacts, Medallions, Rings, Insignias and others.

As you can infer, the Items Update extends to many areas. Some of the more nuanced subtopics involving Loot Tables, Medkits, crafting changes, and so on will be unpacked in future dev blogs.

Onward!

This is the second in a series of dev blogs aimed at sharing some of the exciting changes coming in the biggest systems update in the history of the game! As we mentioned previously, we plan to open up a Test Center build in October. In the meantime, keep an eye out for the next dev blog in which we will be unveiling the Omega System Updates.

Or should we say the Infinity System?...

I'm just over 300 hours into the game, with 11 heroes unlocked (four at level 1, seven at 60) and ~3215 Omega Points earned.

Currently I'm just grinding various currencies and deciding whether to spend my commendations on the slot upgrades. I still have two grade 66 recipes to purchase (slots 2 and 4), as well as four grade 69 recipes (slots 1 to 4). Part of me is itching for an increase in power, but I'm constantly second-guessing myself due to the looming changes. I also have enough Danger Room Merits for the Standard Issue X-Men Uniform, but unsure whether to actually purchase it.

I understand that between the Talent and Post-Talent update, it will be raining Uniques to help players gear and prepare for hunting Omega items, which implies my efforts would not be wasted if I took the plunge now. Of course, all these decisions are based on gearing with the current stat formulas, which I believe are also changing (at least partially) based on comments I read regarding the reduced frequency of critical hits.

I don't belong to any groups and have never raided, although I once attempted to solo Muspelheim Green which ended pitifully.

I'm also not sure whether to give up on Uniquely Qualified; I started this game on 6th November 2016 and I'm only just approaching 2500/10000. Farming Cosmic Hightown appears to be the best option offering both XP and Uniques (and credit chests), but it's still a very slow process.

A Little Confused

I'm somewhat confused as to the current plan. Phase 1 of the big update is planned for Jan/early Feb, right? And Beast may or may not launch with it? I get that, within that time frame, he may not be up now, as long as he is in a week or so at the latest. But what about his hero forum? Those things usually go up before the hero on TC. Using that logic, Beast should, if he has ANY chance of coming with the update, have his hero forum up this week? @Gazillion?

Could you reduce the distance travelled by dashing but give more charges? like reduce it to 100 or something(not too sure what the updated distance would be) but with 12 charges instead, that way people can use dashes to break cc better and also to proc movement procs without moving too much

Dashes for melee characters

$
0
0

In the new version of the game, dashes/teleports are being designed as something to use for avoiding large attacks, not something to use for moving through the map. The travel powers are for moving.

Under this new system, I've seen people pointing out that issues with melee characters vs. ranged characters. Melee characters will have to dash twice, once to dodge an attack, then again to get back to melee range, for example. People have suggested giving melee characters more dash charges, making their dashes shorter, etc.

But if we look at the new interpretation of what a dash power is for, why do melee characters need a dash at all? Why not give them something that's more like a block? It would have the same system of 3 charges that recharge every 4 seconds and grant temporary invulnerability, but wouldn't move the character. Captain America, for example, instead of dashing away would just crouch and put up his shield to block the attack. I think this makes more sense lore-wise and could address the problem of melee vs. ranged in the new system. Hybrid melee/ranged could have a choice between a dash and block, or a talent to change the dash to a block. Since the devs don't seem to want to allow different distances for dashes, this might offer another solution that they might think is more acceptable.

New Costumes Still Don't Have A S.T.A.S.H. Portrait

I refuse to spend my remaining G on the new Vision costume because there is no portrait in his specific hero tab. Isn't this a Quality Control thing where you provide a service that has to meet some standard or something? When Angela was released, her Hero specific tab had her alternate costume available as a portrait in your S.T.A.S.H. No reason for new costumes to not have a hero tab portrait!

I, also, want to thank you for reading and/or participating in my thread!
