I will tell you a story. The hero Blade was released about half a year ago. I was looking forward to having him on the roster for ages and got disappointed, however that's another story. Since the day of his release, I am working on rerolling my cosmic pet affix. I want these +2 ranks on melee powers. It's okay to want it right? There were days I rerolled that cosmic affix of my small Starktech Sentinel up to 10 times, exploiting cosmic event as much as possible. Nothing. I am yet to roll a +2 melee cosmic affix. Over these at least 180 days I would say I averaged rerolling it twice a day, let's say 1,5 times considering I stopped playing now and then. That is 180 x 1,5 = 270 rerolls of ONE affix. Furthermore, I am neglecting other pets. These 270 rerolls were only made for my Stark Sentinel.
So, dear developers, when are you finally going to do something about your too heavy focus on RNG within some mechanics? With each release of new features, new heroes you also make them join a game and system with old and outdated mechanics. These mechanics, which limit your playerbase's fun with the game. Because you guys can't tell me that rerolling is actually fun, and note: I am talking about one mechanic that is too heavily focusing on RNG. There are others.
To players: Yes, I know, that it makes more sense to not have many pets but make pets for each "category" of hero and use that pet for more than one hero. That's actually what I'm trying to do. Since I started using pets more wisely, I'm waiting on some ranks I need, including most importantly +2 melee. I'm not crying or whining about these 2 ranks, I'm just trying to show how ridiculous that system / mechanic is. I'm a person that wants to gear heroes to the maximum, however, with systems like these it gets really annoying really fast.
