Today, the loot made me realize...

I spend about half my playtime sorting through loot rather than actually playing the game. Don't get me wrong, loot is great in a loot based action RPG. It's one of the driving forces for playing. But the amount of useless loot compared to worthwhile loot is staggering. Not to mention you have to pick up -potentially- useless loot just to see if you got something worthwhile. An example of what I mean: costume cores. They're a great item, but you have to pick them up to see if you got something worth keeping, like the ultra rare Trifecta.

Right now, with the event going, when a boss dies in CMM or the like, I've got to pick up worldstone caches cause I need worldstones. I've got to pickup the random Cosmic Worldstones that drop (1-2 at a time), which I wish would just auto pickup. I should be picking up cosmic reliquary of rarities on the off chance they drop something worth while(they usually don't for me, could be different for others). I should be picking up all uniques in case its a rare boss unique, or so I can exchange them for credits. I should be picking up unstable molecules for crafting(even though I have a ton, I still feel like I should), and all other crafting mats since crafting isn't as much a chore as it was back in the day. I should probably pick up cosmic team-up gear on the off chance I have a teamup that needs gear, or just better rolls. I should be picking up starktech cubes so I can get the appropriate skills slotted into my artifacts. Lastly,(I think) I should be picking up insignias because those can be pretty great as well. That's a lot of stuff I should be picking up, while also having to ignore and sift through all the worthless loot that drops. The vaporizer is an amazing thing, but its desperately needed for team-up gear. So when I loot all the things that are necessary, the chances of those things being worthwhile are pretty slim. So then I just end up vendoring or throwing down the worthless loot.

I think this is evidenced by the amount of trash people just throw on the ground. There's way too much useless loot, and you have to pick up the loot just to see if its worthless, while also ignoring all the useless loot you already know isn't worth picking up. So I grab all these things, I open all my worldstone caches to get my stones, okay great. I open up all my reliquaries, usually end up trashing whatever is in it. I see if the uniques are worthwhile or if I have enough space in my stash to just store it up until I have enough to exchange. I sort through the starktech cubes to see if they are worthwhile, a lot of times they are not, so they get trashed. Medallions that aren't cosmic don't even get looted, something else that is in my way when I am trying to actually pick up loot I want. If they're cosmic, now that we can reroll(Thanks btw), they aren't as useless as they were before. The teamup gear I do pick up is usually only marginally better than whatever cosmic piece I already have equipped.

I guess my point is, I spend a lot of my time picking up loot because I Don't know if its good or not, only to find myself trashing it, and I know a lot of others are doing this as well. Truthfully, I'd rather see even more less loot drop, with higher chances of it actually being worth while to pickup. The loot changes in the cosmic patrols are helpful, but there's still just too much useless loot that if you have to sift through only to find out if you HAVE good loot. I'd like to know when an item drops "Oh, that's probably gonna be good, better pick it up!" rather than "Oh...I better pick that up on the off chance that its worth keeping, even though I'll probably trash it."

Anyways, that's just my 2 cents. Have a great weekend everyone.
