Back in the '90s, when Marvel and their Distinguished Competition were on better terms, they jointly published books under the Amalgam Comics imprint, wherein they merged ("amalgamated") characters from their companies into one character. It was kind of fun, even if the stories were a mixed bag of quality.
If there were a Marvel Heroes event, where the characters of the game were merged this way, which two characters would you like to see merged most?
Some that I thought of:
Magnetite: Russian-born Magnus Rasputin had the misfortune of living in Poland at the time of the German invasion during World War II. His family was killed, and only the manifestation of his latent mutant powers saved Magnus from a similar fate. Now transformed into a metallic form, with the ability to control metals through magnetokinesis, he proved a decisive power in helping his Soviet comrades to retake eastern Europe from the Axis powers. His subsequent attempts to create a Collective of Mutantkind have often brought him to odds with the world powers.
Moon Goblin: Soldier of Fortune Norman Spector was granted a second-chance at life by a mysterious Night God after being wounded while in service in Egypt. Dismissing the encounter as a product of his delirious state, he returned home and retired from the mercenary life, investing his fortune and becoming a billionaire military-grade industrialist. An exposure to an experimental enhancement drug for soldiers granted him superhuman strength, but also fractured his mind, causing him to develop a split personality. Now, though still a corporate CEO by day, at night Spector becomes the Moon Goblin, an unpredictable vigilante who acts at the behest of the Night God, whose whims are as ever-changing as the phases of the moon itself.
