So I have been really debating on whether or not to create this thread on this topic. What I'm talking about is the 90% off G's coupon that is...well...really creating some waves among the veteran player base I feel. The straw that broke the camels back for me is when I realized that I was actually going to have to create a dummy account, just to "raise" my chances of getting this coupon. It's totally bogus, and I decided I wasn't going to do it, despite that huge value it has. It's just not right.
It has been posted numerous times, and evidence provided, that newer accounts, and those that don't have much purchasing history or activity, are getting large % coupon rng in their daily draws. I don't want to get into massive hyperbole about a slap in the face, or a punch in the gut, or a kick to the nuts, but wow this is pretty shocking to anyone that has supported Gaz on a large or regular basis.
I totally understand that you can't teach your playerbase to only purchase at 90%, as that will ruin all non-sales models. And you need to leverage your larger spending players against those that only play free. But you also cannot create a system that allows some players to purchase the same products, but at a consistently higher price. Why would we do this as a consumer? Why would you want us to? Your best customers get the "lowest" bargains? Huh?
I can't imagine you didn't think this information would get out. The value is just too large for this rng to remain "secret".
Perhaps a different model should be adopted? Perhaps make it so that 90% can only be obtained every 6 months(or set amount of G's that can be purchased at a discount rate per yer), and let everyone get an even chance? Perhaps limit the amount of G's that can be gifted to a specific account over a set amount of time, to address dummy accounts being created just for gifting? Otherwise I don't know what message it sends to veterans. Create dummy accounts so you can get the same bargains we are offering to new people and those that haven't supported us like you have in the past? I imagine the conversion rate of coupons to purchases would be pretty high from veteran players as compared to newer/low activity accounts.
Really it just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I'm not a special snowflake, and I don't want special treatment. But also don't think I'm some chump that should/will pay more than someone else for the same items just because I've supported in the past, or have an older account. If that is indeed the case, then the jokes on me, and the only way to avoid this is to speak with my wallet, and my words.
Not angry as I have supported Gaz happily in the past, but slightly offended by this. My money is being held for now as I ponder this scenario and the upcoming platform changes.
The community thoughts(or Gaz) on this would be helpful. Have I missed the bigger picture? Am I seeing this wrong? I don't think this is a case of me being jaded or jelly at those that have gotten the coupon, so please someone put me in check if I'm off base here.
