As I'm doing all Superman but not Superman heroes, Gladiator couldn't be ommited. He is last of his race, super powerfull, have freeze breath, few supervisions and hearing, eye beams; almost the whole package. Also his name start: Kal L - coincidence? On the other hand he is dutifull to the empire to a fault and how strong he is changes with his confidence. Another thing why I wanted to pick him is his apearence in X-Men cartoon in Phoenix Saga. My memories tell me he was a bad Language! and in the first encounter he just overpowered everyone. So in front of you the Blue Mohawked Purple Man. Last of Strontians, their Gladiator and Shi'Ar top Imperial Guardian - Kallark

Gladiator

Introduction

Early Years
Kallark's history before he joined the Imperial Guard is largely unknown.

Cadet
He was born centuries ago, though the time period remains unspecified. He is said to descend from a proud bloodline, though the names of his ancestors remain unknown. He was raised by the Strontian council of elders. They were as much family to him as his blood relatives.

Kallark was a cadet on his native planet Strontia, training with other young Strontian men and women, competing for the title of Gladiator. Kallark proved himself a honorable person as well as an efficient soldier then.

Later, Kallark along with the only nine other cadets to have completed the training mission were informed by the council of elders of the purpose of their trials: The new Imperial Guard of the Shi'ar Empire would include the finest warrior of each race of the Empire as its representative. The ten Strontians underwent an enhancement process to become Gladiator, granting them even farther powers than those of their kind.

Selection for the Imperial Guard
The choice for the cadet to join the Guard was to be made by Majestor T'Korr. First disappointed by the youth of the cadets, T'Korr then began doubting their loyalty after Chancellor Vitana informed him that even an ordinary Strontian had the power to decimate an army.

To test their loyalty, T'Korr had a Shi'ar Starcracker orbiting Strontia's sun, able to make it go nova in case of rebellion, and informed the council of his plans: He adressed the cadets, informing that he would make his selection among them after they slayed the Council of Elders. While most of the cadets died rebelling or trying to accomplish the mission, Kallark managed to take down the Council, despite his friend Harrald's opposition, then retreated, somehow knowing of the Shi'ar starcracker and dismantling.

Kallark then returned to T'Korr, told him that his fellows had all fallen in battle, and was named Gladiator, Praetor of the Imperial Guard.
After that a lot of things happened. You can read more here: Marvel wikia

Few rulers later there came Vulcan and became the Majestor. Kallark served him like all before him but later he disobeyed his orders to execute one of the previous Majestrix's Lilandra. After that he fought oposed and rebeled against Vulcan and in the end be came Majestor of Shi'Ar Empire to avoid civil war.

Powers and skills

Strontians are a really powerful race in which one member could take an army. They are fast, durable, powerful have ability to fly, shoot energy beams from their eyes and breath with power of a huricane. Their powers depend on their confidence and they are weak to magic and certain wave lenghts.

Kallark is a Strontian who was top cadet on the planet and went through the Gladiator enhancement process. In addition to his natural abilities, this made him able to survive in the vacuum of space and increased his power levels. He was deemed to be an Alpha Plus by the Galadorian Spaceknight Ikon.

Gladiator was able to lift Baxter Building, his punches destroyed a planet. He can go unharmed through stars and survived explosion of a supernova. Kallarak fough and had upper hand or even won against likes of Thor, Hyperion, Wonder Man. He is super fast reaching about 760 miles/hour on land and being able to reach speed of light in space allowing him to travel through hyperspace with 100 times the speed of light. His eye beams are hotter than a star and are ones of the most powerfull in the universe. Kallarak breath can reach hurican level strenght and he can cool it and make it a freeze breath that temporaily stoped Wonder Man and with some water outed Thor Girl for some time. He also have supervision and superhearing.

Power Trees

  • Secondary Resource
Confidence. Because Gladiator's Strenght, Speed and Durability relays on his confidence I think it would be a nice resource for him to have.

Confidence Bar is located above the power bar and start empty with the indicator of confidence in the middle. Every % of movement toward Confidence [Right] or toward Lack of Confidence [Left] gives a X% buff or debuff respectively to his stats: Defense, Dodge, Attack Speed, Movement Speed and Dmg. If the confidence reach the lowest point Gladiator gets -1 to: Speed, Strenght, Durability and when it reaches the highest point he gets +1 to those stats as long as the confidence is on that level.
Also: When Gladiator reaches the highest point of confidence he gets +X critical hit +X brutal hit for Xs - cooldown on this. When Gladiator reaches the lowest point of confidence he deals -X% dmg and takes +X% dmg until his confidence changes and Xs after that.

What raises confidence: Defeating enemies [Amount depends off of enemy: gray < blue < yellow < miniboss < boss], Having allies at your side, Gaining unusual buffs [Not letters but hero specific buffs like Thors Ultimate gives], Dealing brutal strikes that are over 75% of max dmg.
What lowers confidence: Losing Hp [Certain tresholds for that], Being outnumbered [Certain tresholds for that where the colors of enemies count more than pure numbers] Ally defeat near you [significant loss], When you or ally get unusual debuff/ condition.

Of course this would have to be done in such a way that player skill would be rewarded and reaching the lowest confidence would be a possible threat.

  • Strontian Gladiator
Innate unique abilities of Strontians reside in this tree. Flight with high speeds, eye beams and freeze breath.

  • Shi'Ar Imperial Guard
Feats of strenght that led Gladiator to be Preator and then Majestor. Strontian power, his resolve combined with training and life of amazing fights.

First tree combines movement powers and ranged energy powers. Second is more straight up physical melee tree with heavy object that Gladiator likes.
