[New Hero Sugestion] - Hyperion

Hyperion is my least favourite from the series of NonSupermans that I'm doing but he is on that list and that is why I made this sugestion. So why then he should be in the game? For example his sun reliance can be made into cool mechanic that make his gameplay kinda unique and I think my design is one way of doing that. Second thing is that some people like him over other NonSupermans. That is all, now on the main stage Hyperion:

Introduction

Marcus Milton (Earth-13034)

The super-being that would become known as Hyperion came to Earth as a baby, sent as the only survivor of the race of Eternals from a dying world. A human named Father raised him under the name of Marcus Milton, teaching him the morals of society. As an adult he became the super hero known as Hyperion, and protected the world along a team of super humans known as the Squadron Supreme.

One day, his universe and another started colliding. While he was trying to prevent the destruction of his reality, he was left in the void his destroyed universe once occupied, as the only survivor, floating in nothingness.

But, the group of scientists known as A.I.M. from another universe (Earth-616) managed to pull him to their reality. He spent most of his time in captivity, until he was freed by the Avengers, who offered him a place in their ranks.
His first mission as an Avenger was to rescue the captured members that were being held by Ex Nihilo, Abyss, and Aleph. After rescuing them he returned to Earth and accompanied the other Avengers to the areas hit by Ex Nihilo's Origin Bombs. During his trip to the Savage Land, he found the Children of the Sun, a race of evolved beings created from an Origin Bomb. He began spending a deal of his time caring for and educating them.

Powers and skills

Eternal Physiology: Hyperion's unique physiology is common among the Eternals. His body collects cosmic radiation and operates in a process similar to nuclear fusion, specifically processing and gaining nourishment from solar photon particles. As a result, he possesses various superhuman attributes.

He is strong enough to lift the whole city of Atlantis and throw it. Hyperion also moved a little a rouge planet flying toward Earth. He can run and fly at Mach 4 speed and in space Hyperion achieves light speed at least. Hyperions enhanced senses let him see and hear almost anything. He have seen piece of DNA from space. Another thing is that his hiper inteligence let's him read DNA and do more precise calculations than Avengers computers while simultainiously pointing out how that computer could be improved. His nuclear fusion like energy stored inside of him grants two more abilities. Atomic Vision which is two powerful eye beams and Rapid Regeneration. Hyperion fought against the likes of Hulk blow for blow, he overpowered and killed Namor in almost one sided battle and he had a stalemate against Gladiator both in eye beam power and strenght, his only downfall was less technique and experience than his oponent.

Hyperion i suseptible to magic and if he is sun depleated he becomes weaker and weaker.

Power Trees

  • Second Resource
    Sun Powered. Sun Power Meter [SPM] that have X increments [or percents] fills with Sun Power [SP] at a constant rate that can be increased by powers that make him fly closer to the sun. Hyperion's might is powered by the sun in two ways: First is simple. The more SP he have more powerful he is gaining Hp/5, Spirit/5, Defense, Deflect, Dmg, Crit Rating and Crit Dmg. Hyperion also uses SP to augment his attacks. Some powers use certain amount of SP to gain certain benefits.

When the SP is at it lowest [left] of the SPM then Hyperion is much weaker and almost like a human. On the other hand SP augmented powers can be worth sacrificing some strenght for a time.

  • Eternal but Human
    Powers that don't use SP. Concentrated just on his durability and strenght without too much use of his inner power. Melee powers, throwing powers, a little bit of flying.

  • Sun Powered
    Powers that use SP. Stronger attacks both melee and range some of which involve his Atomic Vision. Here also is his regeneration buff and two jumps closer to sun to regain some energy.

Eternal but Human

Humane Punch Basic, Melee lvl 1

  • Restraining yourself you punch torso then the head measuring enemy strenght.
    Medium attack speed boxing moves.
    Dmg X
    +X% dmg on low SP
    +X% dmg on low Spirit

Long Stride Dash, Movement lvl 1

  • You jump verticaly making one big step froward. If used again you change the leg so it looks like long steps.
    +Dodge and Defence while dashing
    Dmg X - small
    Knockback

Hero Leap Movement, Area

  • You jump and land havily pushing your legs to make a little crater.
    Your fall and tremors leave enemies weakend. Can be done in pretty rapid succesion.

Hyperion Series Melee

  • Series of hits that keeps getting better and better.
    Medium-fast attack speed. Kicks, elbows, headbutts and few hooks.
    Dmg X
    Every 3 hits this power gets +Dmg +Crit Chance. This stacks 5 times.

Discobolus Ranged, Area

  • Rip a roughly circular chunk of the ground and throw it like a disc thrower.
    Dmg X
    Vulnerable
    Cooldown

Flight Travel
Travel Speed: 1000

Tremmors Melee, Area

  • Hit the ground every second making it shake more and more.
    Channeled power. Every 1s it increases it's radius. It does it 5 times. If it grow 5 times the area of the initial hit will stay shaking for 10s after you are done with the Tremmors.

    Chance to knock down - small
    Chance to knock up - small
    Chance to stun - smaller

High Uppercut Melee

  • Almost from the level of the ground you rise your fist to hit the evil chin and you jum from the ground making a spin above the ground such was power of that punch.

Air Strike Melee, Area

  • Hyperion sees molecules in the air, he can calculate neccesary speed and trajectory of a punch to make them move like he wants them to.
    Hyperion punches forward and wind hits enemies in a cone.
    Slow attack speed

    +Dmg close to you.

Throw and Slam Signature, Ranged, Melee, Area

  • You threw whole city of atlantis once. Now it's just a rock. Big rock.
    Big rock falls on enemies. Decent chunk of it is shot into the air, Hyperion catches it and smacks the ground with it landing.
    Dmg X - Rock throw. Bigger Area.
    Dmg X - Rock slam.
    Slow in the area.

Sun Powered

Atomic Vision Ranged lvl 1

  • Besides seeing everything from any distance your eyes can do more.
    Shoot a powerful single target blast of energy that can pack quite a punch.
    Attack speed 1/s
    Dmg X
    If available uses X SP and:
    +Dmg X
    Knock back
    2s cooldown on the augmentation [2 attacks without]

Hyper Lariat Melee

  • With straight arm you dash to a foe and stop behind him while your arm knocks him down hiting him in the neck. You can really push yourself and make dozen man fall under your arm.
    Dmg X
    Knock Down
    If available uses X SP and:
    Hits everyone in the path.
    Allways critical hits on the chosen target [not on the enemies in the path]
    Gets cooldown.

Slicing Beam Ranged

  • When evil comes in a crowd you have to slice them all down.
    Channeled eye beam
    Pierces enemies each following enemy get less dmg.
    Dmg X 2/s
    If available uses X SP every 3s and:
    For 3s aplies Vulnerability [8s]

Get some sun Movement, Area

  • Hyperion flies high into the sun to get stronger. With nuclear batteries refueled he flies fist first into the ground to shake everyone there.
    You disapear into the air and come back into the target area.

Healing Fusion

  • Atomic reactions in your body can be a fuel for rapid regeneration.
    Regenerate X Hp in 5s
    +Hp/5 for 20s
    Uses X SP

Atomic Rain Ranged, Area

  • Fly man hight above the ground and bombard target area with your atomic vision.
    Many separate beams hit the area for as long as you channel.
    Dmg X 2/s
    If available uses SP every 3s and:
    +Dmg X for 3s
    For 3 seconds aplies Slow in the area [8s]

Construction work Melee, Area

  • Fly quickly to grab a road then swing with it to hit enemies in the line and stun them. With atomic vigor you can even hit them with a bridge.
    Animation of flash speeding away and comming back in like 0,5s then overhead hit with a long piece of road that hits flat on the ground.

    If available uses X SP and:
    Grabs a bridge - longer Area of effect.
    +Crit chance

One on one Melee

  • When you need to resolve things mano a mano. Hero to vilain.
    After 3 punches you use your Atomic Vision close range straight into the eyes if there is SP if not you just punch.
    Medium-Fast attack speed.
    Dmg X
    If available uses X SP every forth hit:
    Dmg X - higher.

The real Atomic Vision Ranged

  • When there is need to use the real deal.
    Single target beam.
    Channeled max 3-4s
    Deals X dmg 2/s
    Cooldown 1s
    If available uses X SP per second [fast]:
    Uses SPM bonuses from the start of the channel.
    +Dmg X
    Knock back [aplied every 0,5s to constantly knockback a little more]

Up Up and away Melee, Area

  • You push of the ground so hard that you make a shockwave before you flight high to regenerate. When you are done you land in the target area safely. [either generates less SP and/or deals less dmg or it have longer cooldown than Get some sun ]
    Dmg X on the jump
    Generate X SP
    +Hp/5 for the duration
    +Spirit regen for the duration [Starts right when you activate ability. Tere is no stop of spirit regen after landing]

Ultimate

Sun God

  • Ascend near the sun to refill your energy. While you are there use your Atomic Vision to shoot enemies on the ground. More than full drop to the ground.
    Fly to the sky. Shoot target area with beams [follows cursor] then drop to the ground with a buff.
    Dmg X 2/s from beams. - smaller area for 5s?
    Dmg X from the drop.
    Full SPM that don't decay for Xs
    Eternal but Human powers get X% more of the SPM buff.
    +1 def +1strenght +1fighting.
    +Hp/5 +Spirit regen +Critical hit rating

Talent Ideas:

  • Hero Leap becomes your dedicated dash while Long Stride is now your travel power that keeps it's benefits.

  • Hyperion Series becomes 15 hit single target cooldown power in which you make a flury of punches in the melee range.

  • Air Strike becomes a movement power in which you jump over enemies and fling with superspeed small rocks at them like a rain of mini bombs. Small cooldown. Slow in the area.
  • Air Strike becomes Gravel kick. You kick the ground in front of you sending fast flying particles that cut enemies in front of you. It's still a cone power but deal less dmg looses the closer range buff but make enemies bleed for dmg over time.
  • Discobolus looses cooldown and you throw smaller chunks of ground that you pick you in a spin fashion after disk thrower throw.
  • High Uppercut leaves lasting dmg over time instead of stun.
  • Atomic Vision becomes Restrained Vision and is a basic power without augmentation dealing less dmg. Humane Punch become Eternal Punch and isn't a basic power. It gains +Dmg and +Crit chance. Keeps bonuses from low SP and spirit.
  • Hyper Lariat on SP use it doesn't deal the asured critical hit but don't have cooldown.
  • Slicing Beam uses X SP every second to aditionaly leave bleed dmg over time.
  • The Real Atomic Vision becomes wide, channeled, piercing beam that allways needs SP and uses SP fast. It doesn't aplly knockback. It still have 3-4s max channel time and 1s cooldown.
  • Get some sun instead of crashing into the ground you fly slower to the ground using eye beam in the area for 1,5 dealing X dmg 2/s. Less dmg. Ranged power.
