[New Hero Sugestion] - Sentry

Sentry is one of the most powerfull Marvel Heroes not counting abstract beings. He have the power of Milion Exploding Suns and that isn't a boast. He is Golden Guardian of Good. He is junky turned hero who became agoraphobe with second personality that haunts the world as a demonic force that killed milions. He was at least twice forgoten by the world, erased from everyones memories including his own, in some scheme to protect everyone. Isn't that a great idea for a hero? A playable one at that? Someone who isn't all there in the head deparment but is a solar powered powerhouse of the highest caliber who is up and up with reality manipulation and some photokinetic mayhem. So let's get it started!

Sentry

Introduction

  • Early Years

In 1947, Canada's Department K and remnants of the United State's Operation: Rebirth pooled their resources to become Project: Sentry, an attempt to not only recreate the Super Soldier Serum but, in post-war hubris, magnify its effects a thousand times over. Unfortunately, within a few years it had been divided nearly a thousandfold itself into isolated sub-projects; with lab work farmed out to private contractors the overall administration was virtually nil. Precisely where all of its resources ended up over the decades, what they might have begun, and where they ultimately led, is currently unknown.

Over ten years later, Robert Reynolds, a meth addict, broke into the laboratory of Professor Cornelius. It was there that he discovered a glowing serum. Consuming the compound, Robert Reynolds gained the power of a million exploding suns. This act killed his partner and the lab's guards. He then asked the Professor to make more for himself.

Project: Sentry, appalled at what their irresponsibility had wrought, persuaded Reynolds to let them test his powers at their facility, but they could not contain him for long, nor curb his desire to use his powers for the greater good of all, and the Sentry debuted before a world that had almost forgotten superhuman Samaritans. After trouncing the school bully who had tormented him, Reynolds sewed together a costume and made his debut as the heroic Sentry.

The Sentry was an optimistic and socially accepted hero who stood in marked contrast to the mostly freakish nature of the other heroes. He had connections to Mister Fantastic, Iron Man, the Hulk, Spider-Man and Professor X. One of very few super heroes active during the years just prior to the Fantastic Four's emergence, Sentry gained new importance when the new wave of heroes rose to prominence. Almost instantly deducing Spider-Man's secret identity, he became a role model for the young hero, as well as an ally to the X-Men, an equal to Reed Richards, and a friend to the outcast Hulk. The Sentry even battled Doctor Doom alongside the Fantastic Four and defeated his greatest enemy, the General, with the X-Men's aid.
During this period, the Sentry married the love of his life, Lindy, and took the young Scout as his sidekick. Lindy got swept up in it all, excited at the prospect of meeting other heroes. She eventually learned of Robert's addiction but did nothing about it. She even feared that taking the serum must have awakened something of biblical proportions. She later stated that she should have killed him on their wedding night.

  • The Void

The arrival of the Void, a shadowy monster that exploited its enemy's greatest fears, ended the Sentry's charmed life. The Void nearly killed Scout, drove Hulk into a rampage, and murdered over one million people in Manhattan. Discovering that the Void had been the dark aspect of his own powers, the Sentry teamed with Reed Richards and Dr. Strange to create a system which made Earth's entire population -- including Richards, Strange, and the Sentry -- forget his existence. With the Sentry inactive and forgotten, the Void vanished.

In reality the Void was Reynolds' own repressed persona, powered by the Sentry's own powers. The General had captured Reynolds and brought him to mutant illusionist Mastermind, who implanted a "mental virus" in the Sentry's mind. This virus created delusions that if the Sentry used his powers, a devil would appear, intent on destroying the world

Powers and skills

  • Chemically Enhanced Physiology:
    The Sentry's superhuman powers and abilities derive from a special version of the Super-Soldier Serum of which its potency was increased thousands of times and altered making it much more potent. The experimental serum creates a phase-shift in his molecules, causing the Sentry to become partially out of sync with normal reality. The serum induces a photosynthetic reaction, resulting in a hyperstate of consciousness. His powers seem to have their basis in reality warping. Though most of his powers and their limits are still unknown, the Sentry has been said to have the power of a million exploding suns. He is so powerful that Karla Sofen theorized in front of Norman Osborn that what happened after Scarlet Witch broke down would be nothing compared to what Sentry could do. Sentry has also fought Galactus. He was stated to be an Omega-Level Threat by Mister Fantastic, and Nick Fury's intel classified him as Power Level 10+

  • Superhuman strenght:
    Rivaling the strenght of Hulk. Liften cruseliner with ease. Ripped in half both Carnage and Ares.

  • Superhuman speed:
    He moves in excess of mach 10 on earth. In space he moves many times faster than light. His speed possibly bends space and time.

  • Superhuman durability:
    Sentry is invulnerable unless he don't want to be. He also can regenerate from any injury and even being changed into liquid or totaly desitegrated.

  • Photokinesis:
    He can use sun power to just create light or make light so bright it blinds. His most blinding light calms hulk. He also can use it to make projectiles, eye beams and other more exploding creations.

  • Reality manipulation:
    Sentry made golems from the earth, Resurected his wife with a touch, stoped Thors hammer in the air. Limit for his powers are unknown and he don't controll them well. They are dependant on his mental state.

  • Void:
    Darkness manipulation, Void zone powers, Infini Tendrils that deal pshychic damage but can break limbs of the Hulk, Atmokinesis.

Power Trees

Sentry have no spirit.
Additional Spirit adds physical dmg and defence.
Additional Spirit Regeneration adds energy dmg and shortens cooldowns on energy powers.

Secondary Resource
Void Bar - placed over power bar. For every good Sentry does there will be oposite action done by the Void. In Talents you will be able to choose a mental state of Robert Reynolds which changes how this resource works and how he changes into the Void. There will be 3 options.

Stable - Reynolds controlls his mind and knows that there is no Void. - Default
In this state the secondary resource don't exist. You don't have problem with the Void and Sentry gets this bonuses XXX

Afraid of yourself - Reynolds knows that he is the Void but tries to controll himself.
In this state the Void Bar fills when you defeat enemis [more for stronger enemies and even more for bosses] and resurect allies. When the resource bar is full you can either change into the Void [voluntairly or automaticly if the X time passes] for a time or you can use Calming Light and calm down. Sentry get this bonuses XXX

Afraid of the Void - Reynolds don't know that he is the Void and fears that what he does will bring the Void. Void Bar fills when you defeat enemies [more for stronger enemies and even more for bosses] and resurect allies. When it is full Void apears. Void is your enemy but his attacks also hurt anyone around him so he can be a boon. Sentry gets this bonuses XXX

Powers:

  • Infini-Tendrill: Melee attack that deal both physical and mental dmg, Long dash that deeals dmg and hits with tendrills on the way.
  • Darkness manipulation: Creates big darknes projectiles, Creates beam going from one side to the other.
  • Negative Zone: Creates a vortex on the ground that pulls and deals dmg.
  • Atmokinesis: Void Generates a storm.
    Void Exists Xs or until defeated.

Golden Guardian
Lifting battle ships, fighting with hulk, taking hit so the planet don't have to. You are the bastion of power you are a shining golden god. Punch and kick them for the beterment of mankind.

Manipulation
Photokinesis, Molecular manipulation, Reality manipulation, Psychic manipulation. Some of this powers are your second nature some are new to you. You are more then even you knew you are.

First tree focuses on purely physical attacks. Punching, Flying, Jumps and even kicking up debris. Second tree is more about ranged energy attacks but it also have a void attack, summon and melee power.

Sentry hovers but as rogue he can walk after he touches the ground.

Golden Guardian

Golden fist Melee lvl 1

  • Regular one two that usually ends the job.
    Medium speed attacks looking like carefull precise punches.

Fist first Movement, Dash lvl 1

  • You have to look heroic for the part.
    Fly "slowly" through enemies fist first knocking them back.

Kick the curb Ranged

  • While hovering with your arms crossed kick the ground below you with one leg in a way that chunk of it flies up in front of you then kick it with the same leg to send it forward knocking down enemies in it's path. On the animation it looks almost effortless.
    Attack speed 1/s or a little less.

Quick Work Melee, Area

  • Fly almost instanlty to the choosen area disabling all enemies there in a blink of an eye.
    Quick dash, few blurs around the area with fight sound and Sentry ends near that area.

You there! Movement, Melee, Area

  • Person of special interest. Usually the main bad guy that needs some golden fists.
    Rush quickly to target foe hiting everyone on our way leaving them open and deliver powerful blow to the target.

    Small Cooldown 3s?

Guardian

  • You can stop Thors hammer and Hulks fists you can stop everything.
    Channel power in which you stand with your hand in front of you and move faster than teleportation blocking every attack that would hit your allies.
    You are invulnerable for the duration of the channel
    Prevent X% dmg in area around you blocking every attack
    After the end of the channel [which have no limmit] there is cooldown

Unyielding Pummel Melee

  • Don't give him a second to breath don't give him time to recuperate. You are holding the line.
    Single target fast attacks that knocks back enemy but always keep you close to him to continue pushing.

Small step for me Melee, Area

  • Big leap for ones on the reciving end.
    Rapidly jump high into air, almost hanging in the peak of the jump and then rapidly fall into target location dealing dmg at both ends. While in air you are doing a sharp parabola or even a sharp angle.

    Bigger area of dmg at landing.
    Small Cooldown

Let it rip Signature, Melee

  • Ending things quickly doesn't always look nice. But when all else fails, harm have to be done so less harm will be done.
    Fly into the sky for a second then swoop fast to the target enemy and treat them like Morgan Lafay [ripping her head off] or like Ares [ripping him in half]. You do round ended V fly through. On the bottom you hit the enemy quickly and you land behind him [after ending the turn if you "rip of the head" or instantly if you "rip in half" but it takes the same time].

    This power always deals brutal dmg.
    Execute - More dmg lower enemy hp
    If it kills an enemy there should be some [little] gore VFX

Golden boots Melee

  • Hover just above people heads and fly feet first into an enemy kicking him in the chest. If the enemy is far from you you fly almost horizontaly. If the enemy is next to you when you use this power it looks like you would be trying to hit him into the ground with repeated drops.
    Dmg
    +Crit chance the further it was used from the target.
    +Attack speed the closer it was used from the target.

Manipulation

Sun droplet Ranged, Area lvl 1

  • Gift of sunshine from the photkinesis that knows who to give warmth and who to give heat.
    Create an orb of sun energy and send it in front of you. It flies slowly [comparatively] and explodes either in the target area or on contact. Medium-Slow attack speed.

Dawn, Meridium, Dusk Melee

  • I'm a warrior of the sun and this is our power.
    Two body blows with fists covered in energy of the sun that conects instead of the fist itself and then over head two handed blow with a big ball of light energy around them.

Eye drow the line Ranged, Area

  • When enough is enough and the line have to be drown.
    Focusing energy of the sun into beams coming from your eyes you drow a line in the ground at the end of a medium leght and width cone. The line is burned and few centimeters deep. Everyone on the path of the beam get damaged. Making your stand, showing power and hiting enemies hard enough you make them vulnerable.

Air on fire Ranged, Area

  • Sometimes you need an explosion to deliver your point across. I can make explosions just like that snaps fingers
    Making a hand gesture you use photokinesis and heat up an area in such way that hydrogen in the air explodes making vacume that sucks everything in.
    Explosion in the area, leaves burning ground, vacume pulls enemies to the center.

    Dmg X 2/s burning from both explosion or area for X seconds

Anti-graviton manipulation Travel power

  • When need be I can go over mach 8 and in the vacume of space ... It defies physics. But now I'm not in a hurry.

Calming light Area

  • Spread the realy bright light covering whole screen. It's almost blinding but it's nicely hot and relaxing as well. It calms the Hulk it calms you but it's not the best for the unprepared.
    After a short glowing Sentry releases a white-yellow light covering screen and then light comes back to him.
    Weaken
    Stun
    Increase Hp/5 for Xs to you and your allies.
    If you are "Afraid of yourself" or "Afraid of the Void" this calms you reducing the Void Bar to zero but you are stuned for 1s and you can't use cooldown powers fo 5s - % of the bar that was empty.
    Cooldown

Void under my skin Area

  • Void comes out of your shoulders as shodowy figure and smacks with his tendrills around you then disapears. His powers lingers around you [VFX] and in next 5s your physical attacks will also do mental dmg from tendrils and our energy attacks won't be light but darkness dealing dmg as dmg over time with some extra dmg.
    Exceptions: Kick the curb will be a kicked ball of dark energy. Calming Light will deal dmg over time instead of Hp/5 and instead of the stun it will root enemies with tendrills for longer time. Weaken is prolonged.
    Big cooldown
    If you are "Afraid of yourself" or "Afraid of the Void" using this power reduces X% of the Void Bar

If you are "Afraid of yourself" and your Void Bar is full this power becomes:

Overwhelmed by the Void

  • You change into the void.
    Black Tendrills attack enemies near you. Mental dmg.
    Your powers gain different properties.
    Some will be faster, some will have bigger radius or bigger range
    Your melee hits are hits with tendrills. Physical + mental dmg
    Your dash or other moving powers are shadow sliding or dash-teleport
    Your black energy powers all aplly 1/2 of dmg as dmg over time with additional dmg
    This lasts for X seconds
    This power activates on it's own if not activated and calming light isn't used in Xs after the Void bar is full.

Focused attention Ranged

  • You gather energy of the sun in your eyes and then release it on a single target.
    Charged power. Sentry hovers, his eyes glow and then he shoots wide beams from his eyes fo 0,5s. Charge is longer than usual?
    Dmg: X
    Dmg if fully charged +200%

Photon lances Ranged

  • You send piercing lances of photon energy leaving holes in walls and enemies.
    Animation: 3 attacks form hands and 1 from the eyes with a little higher hover and bow.
    Fast attack speed, Pierces enemies.
    Dmg X, %less for every enemy behind the first one.

Suncovered Dash Movement, Area

  • You gather your energy and prepare your dash. Then you make a screen long super fast dash like an arrow of light. Dealing light dmg in a wide stripe and also leaving wide burning trail in the middle of your dash [wide for a trail].

    Dmg X 2/s from standing on the trail. Trail apllies burn.

Speed of light Teleport

  • You can move so fast it's like teleportation for someone slower.
    Normal teleport that goes through walls [if there is option to have an animation that leaves fast vanishing toward Sentry yellow trail that marks the way of his movement it would be nice touch]

Matter manipulation Summon, Area

  • You don't controll this power as well as others but it have it's uses when there are more urgent matters to atend to.
    Summon 5 golems at targeted area. They surround and block enemies with their bodies [I don't know if they can block if not they have a slow aura to achieve similar effect] and fight them for 10s. If they can they try to fight only the enemies from the area they were spawned in. After 10s they explode with light.
    Dmg X from summons attacks.
    Dmg X from explosion.
    Short cooldown 2s
    If you use this power again when the golems are up they will explode.
    The power will go again on the 2s cooldown.

Ultimate

Power of a Thousand Exploding Suns Area

  • You know that full extent of your powers would destroy the planet or the whole solar system. So you will keep that Million Exploding Suns for later but you will give them more than enough.
    You gather your power. You squat a little and start to glow. Ground shakes and enemies get knockdown [unresistable]. And then you streighten up, yell and explode with the power of a Thousand Exploding Suns. And you land on your feet for 0,5-1s "resting".

IF you are Void and use ulimate it's different.

Power of One Exploding Black Hole Area

  • As Void you create super dense blackness inside of you. Everything shakes and enemies are knocked down and pulled toward you form a great ranges fast. Then you laugh loud and cray and explode making whole screen black and knocking enemies back leaving you in the middle as Sentry resting for 1-2s.

    Knockback [big and unresistable]
    All gray enemies are consumed by the explosion VFX after explosion [changing into disapearing black-violet particles]

    Dmg X 2/s to enemies hit from lingering darkness
