How about the real Guardians of the Galaxy? Vance Astro, Charlie-27, Martinex, Youndu, Starhawk, Nikki... all of them have some interesting potential, and I think it'd be fun for some classic heroes as new characters. (I especially like the idea of Nikki - sort of a hand-to-hand Human Torch character...)
