Has Gazilion ever enumerated on the consequences of their deal with Marvel expiring? Can Marvel jack up the license price on the content that is already in the game, effectively killing it in 2019? If Marvel/Disney wants out of the deal for whatever reason, is it known whether the contract provides for indefinite continued operation of the game with the content it has at that time?
I realize that a lot of these questions probably can't be answered by the community, but I'm new, so as far as I know some of them may have been.
I'm pretty big on game ownership. I like to know that the game I'm playing, if I really like it, will still be playable in ten or twenty years. I realize the prognosis is generally grim with online games like this but my personal best case scenario is that they release an offline spinoff product with LAN play once they feel the online SaaS version has run it's course. It may sound far fetched now, but it could be easy money once they're ready to leave the license behind and work on something new.
