I was skeptical about dcl. I read the forums and thought it was a major mistake. Turns out....I can prestige MUCH faster because of this!!!!
I first prestiged colossus. I had a couple xp boxes from login rewards and I popped them on the raft to expedite the process.
Ended up at level 14 and was thinking "great...now i out leveled the early bosses. Dammit"....turns out...I DIDN'T(obviously).
I steam rolled through GG then Shocker. Then I ported back to HUB because I was level 30, so I spent omegas.
Then I was so over powered for the rest of story mode, it was a SUPER easy way to level. I could do every easy boss because of DCL and hit 60 in what seemed like record time.
When I was first reading about this DCL...I was pretty skeptical, I also bought into the ideas that the people were saying that it takes forever to level now. Instead, after trying it for myself on several characters, I am convinced that DCL makes prestige-ing much easier. It also makes leveling a new character much easier, especially the more you play (due to omegas, xp boxes, legendaries etc)!!!!
The more xp boxes you save, the easier it is to level a new character: I can pop 3-4 boxes and start the raft at level 25 and gain several levels from it. Then I can go on and play the major boss missions in story mode and miss out on NO xp. Previously, if I popped my xp boxes, I would miss out on everything up through chapter 4.
Tl;dr DCL made prestige-ing MUCH easier. If you have omegas and a leveled legendary, it LITERALLY takes 20-30 minutes to level through to 60. I was initially opposed to this chance....but it has turned out to be in favor of the player, especially long-term players!!!!
Thank you @Asros (if you could please relay the "thanks" to whoever green-lit this idea, if not yourself!). I concur with the developers....dcl was a great change! (for someone initially very opposed to dcl, I have been given a brand new perspective!)
