This isn't a commentary on the upcoming Hela Blessing nerf. Rather, it is a commentary on the commulative reaction I have seen from this community regarding the upcoming Hela blessing nerf. In my eyes, as a whole the MH community has followed the 5 stages of grief (usually traversed during a time of heavy personal loss such as a death in the family), and has followed the stages pretty spot on. Don't believe me?
Denial - What? Gaz says they are nerfing Hela blessings? How do you know? It showed up on some stream? Nobody watches those! And TC notes? Psh, that will never actually go through.
Anger - How dare Gaz touch Hela blessings! All my builds have Hela blessings!! The whole combat system in MH is built around Hela blessings!!! I won't be get a brutal strike again! The whole company is evil and corrupt and out of touch with the community!!!!!
Bargaining - Alright, if you are going to nerf our blessings then at least give us an exchange recipe for the crafter. But maybe don't nerf Hela SO hard, huh? And why don't you buff the other blessings while you are at it?
Depression - All my hard work ... All my builds ... All my TTK videos ... It is all meaningless ...
Acceptance - I guess this is actually happening. I will need to change my gearing and omegas, but maybe this will lead to greater diversity in builds and play style. Maybe there will be more depth in the game mechanics when I am not forced to max CHR. This could work out for the better ...
TL;DR: I am amused that our community has moved through the stages of grief over a Hela Blessing nerf and Majoras Mask is an incredible game with a deep meta-narrative.
